State Aid to Fair

 Through enabling act 1122, passed during the regular session of the 1969 Legislature, the Agriculture Center Board is co-sponsor of this year’s National Peanut Festival and Fair and pays a portion of the premiums, prizes, and awards listed in the program.

 General Rules and Regulations

  1. Exhibits may be brought to the Premium Exhibits Building at the fairgrounds from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1^st.

 2. Entry forms should be turned in with your entry.  No pre-registration is necessary.  An unlimited number of entries is allowed in each division, but one family may win only 2 awards per division.

 3. All exhibits must remain in place until 1:00 p.m., Sunday, November 11^th, but must be removed by 3:00 p.m. that same day.

 4. Department Chairmen will be responsible for checking on your exhibit daily.  All exhibits will be UNMANNED.

 5. There shall be no soliciting of funds in the exhibit area. 6. Reasonable caution in the safeguarding of all exhibits will be exercised, but the Festival Staff CANNONT assume responsibility for any loss or damage incurred.

 7. Any exhibit not picked up during the time allocated will become the property of the Festival.

 8. No exhibitor tickets will be given for the items entered.

 9. All baked goods must have at least 50% honey as the sweetener and must be securely wrapped in Saran.  Please submit recipe with all baked goods entry.

10. PLEASE USE NON-RETURNABLE TRAYS FOR BAKED GOODS.

11. Division IV entries must state what hive products are

    used on the entry form.

DIVISION II – AMBER EXTRACTED HONEY (3 ONE LB. JARS)

DIVISION III – DARK EXTRACTED HONEY (3 ONE LB. JARS)

DIVISION IV – MISCELLANEOUS HVE PRODUCTS

DIVISION V – CAPPED FRAMES OF COMB HONEY

(SECURELY WRAPPED IN SARAN)

(1 FRAME PER EXHIBIT)

DIVISION VI – CHUNK HONEY

(3 LIKE JARS NOT OVER 2 1/2 LB. OF COMB & EXTRACTED HONEY)

DIVISION VII – BEESWAX

(NOT OVER 2 LB. IN ANY FORM OR SHAPE – WRAPPED IN SARAN)

DIVISION VIII – CAKES*

DIVISION IX – PIES*

DIVISION X – BREADS*

DIVISION XI – COOKIES*

*REMEMBER THAT IN DIVISIONS VIII-XI, HONEY MUST BE AT LEAST 50% OF THE SWEETNER AND MUST BE WRAPPED IN SARAN.
