National Peanut Festival and Fair 2009 Craft & Hobby Exhibits
ALABAMA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE State Aid to Fair Through enabling act 1122, passed during the regular session of the 1969 Legislature, the Agriculture Center Board is co-sponsor of this year’s National Peanut Festival and Fair, and pays a portion of the premiums, prizes and awards listed in the program.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. All entries must be pre-registered. The deadline is Friday, October 23, 2009. Mail entry forms to: National Peanut Festival, 5622 Highway 231 South, Dothan, Alabama 36301.
2. Space requires the festival to limit entries to one person per lot.
3. Exhibits must be placed for 1st display between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Entries must be brought to the Premium Building on the fairgrounds on Highway 231 South.
4. Exhibits must be left in place until 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8th. NO EXCEPTIONS!
5. Only judges and chairmen will be allowed in the building until 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 30th. Winners will not be announced until 3:00 p.m.
6. All reasonable caution in handling and safeguarding of exhibits will be exercised, but the Festival cannot assume responsibility for any loss or damage incurred.
7. No paintings, drawings, sketches or posters of any medium will be accepted in this department.
8. No electrical outlets provided.
9. 1st Place winning entries may not be reentered.
10. Professionals are only allowed to enter in a class with a professional lot. Professionals are considered to be persons receiving all or part of their income from their craft, including teaching or instructing.
11. All entries must be marked Amateur or Professional and be signed by the exhibitor.
12. The Miscellaneous Class (Class 07) will accept only items that do not fit in any other class.
************************************************* PRIZES *1. Each lot will be judged on the merits of the item. Judges will use their own discretion in awarding ribbons.
2. Rosette winners in Class 01 through 15 will compete for a silver tray for Best of Adult.*
3. Rosette winners in Class 16 – 18 will compete for a silver tray for Best of Youth.*
4. Rosette winners from Professional classes will compete for a silver tray for Best of Professionals.*
5. Premium checks will be given to each winner when the entry is picked up on Sunday, November 8th. Checks must be picked up by exhibitor only.
6. No exhibitor tickets will be given for entries.

The National Peanut Festival is using a new computer system for the Premium Exhibit and Agriculture divisions of the festival. To save time during drop off times, we ask that you please pre-register all of your items.
In order to cut down traffic congestion on the fairgrounds, we have changed the drop off schedule. Please be sure to check the rules and regulations (#3) for the new drop off date.
