PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST

 

RULES

     1.  One entry per person.

     2.  Must be original work of contestant, no stencils or kits permitted.

     3.  Art supplies should be used such as paint, markers, crayons, etc.

     4.  NO CARVING.

     5.  NO ACCESSORIES SUCH AS EARRINGS, EYES, OR HATS ATTACHED TO PUMPKIN.  (The  

          pumpkin will automatically be disqualified if attachments are used).

     6.  No artificial pumpkins will be allowed.

 

WHERE

     1.  Bring decorated pumpkin, with entry form, to the Premium Building at the National Peanut

          Festival Fairgrounds, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 4 PM – 7 PM.

 

JUDGING CRITERIA – (Judging will be Friday, October 30, 2009)

     1.  Originality –                              20 points

     2.  Artistic Design –                        20 points

     3.  Suitability of pumpkin to design – 10 points

                                            TOTAL – 50 points

 

LOTS & PRIZES – (Prizes will be award Sunday, November 8th from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.)

  Lot 01   Kindergarten / First Grade      1st Place - $15.00, 2nd Place - $10.00, 3rd Place - $5.00

  Lot 02   Second / Third Grade             1st Place - $15.00, 2nd Place - $10.00, 3rd Place - $5.00

  Lot 03   Fourth / Fifth Grade               1st Place - $15.00, 2nd Place - $10.00, 3rd Place - $5.00

  Lot 04   Jr. High School                      1st Place - $20.00, 2nd Place - $15.00, 3rd Place - $10.00

  Lot 05   High School                          1st Place - $20.00, 2nd Place - $15.00, 3rd Place - $10.00

  Lot 06   Adult Entries                         1st Place - $20.00, 2nd Place - $15.00, 3rd Place - $10.00

  Lot 07   Special Education – Elem.       1st Place - $15.00, 2nd Place - $10.00, 3rd Place - $5.00

  Lot 08   Special Education – H.S.         1st Place - $20.00, 2nd Place - $15.00, 3rd Place - $10.00

 

DISPLAY

     Prize winning pumpkins will be displayed in the Premium Building at the National Peanut Festival  

     Fairgrounds.  Pumpkins can be picked up from the fairgrounds on Sunday, November 8th from 

     1:00 – 3:00 P.M.  Any pumpkins that are left after 3:00 P.M. will be discarded.
