1. Each recipe must feature peanuts, peanut butter, peanut oil or other peanut product.
2. No entries will be accepted by the previous year’s Adult or Student NPF Grand Prize Recipe winner.
3. Limit one entry per class per person.
4. Absolutely no entries will be accepted from professionals. This means, if you make any part of your living from cooking/catering you are ineligible to enter this contest.
5. All recipes must be written clearly on an official form or reproduction. If additional space is needed, please attach a separate page to the entry form.
6. The National Peanut Festival Recipe Contest will be held Thursday, October 27, 2022 in the Volunteer Building at the National Peanut Festival fairgrounds.
7. Entries will be accepted in the NPF Volunteer Building from 8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M.
8. Judging will begin at 10:00 A.M. Awards ceremony will begin at 1:00 PM in the NPF Bank Plus Arena. Participants will not be allowed in the judging area during judging.
9. The finished product of at least 10 servings, along with the detailed recipe must be entered. The container MUST BE disposable. The recipe must be typed or printed clearly.
10. Judges will select winners on the basis of texture, excellence in flavor, appearance, originality and effective use of peanut products.
11. The National Peanut Festival reserves the right to disqualify any recipe that it feels is not original. The judge’s decision is final. 12. All entries become the property of the sponsors. No entries will be returned. The winning recipe photos will be on display at the fairgrounds.
13. Prepared mixes are allowed, as well as original recipes. Please state brand name of mix used.
14. No entries will be accepted unless they are in disposable containers.
15. There will be six areas of competition in each of the two separate classes – ADULT Division & STUDENT Division. The classes for each contest include: Cakes, Candies, Cookies/Bars, Pies, Cupcakes/Cakepops and Miscellaneous. Please mark each class you are entering in the space provided on the entry form. 16. Items prepared for the Miscellaneous Class will be anything containing peanuts, peanut butter, peanut oil or other peanut products that cannot be entered in any of the other four lots – such as: soup, dip, main dish, breads, etc. For this class you will need to indicate if your entry needs to be heated before judges taste your product.
17. Students’ entries will not be judged against Adult entries. Each (Adult and Student) competition will have its own prizes.
18. Adult is defined as anyone over 18 years of age. Student is defines as anyone 18 years of age and younger.
