Junior Fair Board 2021
The primary purpose of the Junior Fair Board is to promote, support and represent the National Peanut Festival. This is accomplished by serving as public relations ambassadors for the 2021 Festival, volunteering a minimum of 40 hours to community service of which 20 hours will be served during the National Peanut Festival, Nov 5-14th, 2021. Interested high school students, who meet the following requirements, are eligible to apply.
Applications are due to the National Peanut Festival office (5622 Us Hwy 231 South, Dothan 36301) no later than 5:00pm on Monday, March 22, 2021. Late applications will not be accepted.
The Junior Fair Board 2021 requirements are:
You must be a high school Sophomore or Junior for the 2020-2021 school year. (Jr or Sr ‘21-22)
You must have a 3.0 grade average or greater.
You must be living with a parent or guardian, unmarried and without children.
You must be a resident of Alabama/Florida/Georgia.
You must be able to volunteer for a minimum of 40 hours for this “Community Service.”
You must submit the application and two (2) letters of recommendation – one from a teacher/principal/school counselor and one from a personal reference (non-family).
The 2021 Junior Fair Board applicants will be interviewed Thursday March 25th, 2021. Applicants must work effectively in a team environment, look professional, possess good communication skills and have a pleasing personality.
Previous JFB members must turn in an updated application & go thru the interview process.

The Junior Fair Board shall have the following duties and expectations:
a. Make recommendations to the National Peanut Festival Board of Directors regarding NPF operations.
b. Assist in preparation for the Fair with specific duties to be scheduled.
c. Serve in the role of liaison with their represented High School.
d. Attend the regular meetings of the NPF JFB each year. Date TBD.
e. Communicate and actively participate with the JFB group.
f. Contribute volunteer service hours during pre-Fair, post-Fair, and the Fair itself as required.
g. Actively participate at special NPF sponsored events at the Fairgrounds.
h. Interact positively with exhibitors, vendors, staff, volunteers, and NPF Board Members.
i. Members of the Junior Fair Board shall serve without compensation of any kind.
j. Maximum of 18 participants.
