National Peanut Festival President Announces Theme for 2023!
Dothan, Al. National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds — Mrs. Frances Cook, President, National Peanut Festival Association announced the theme of the 2023 National Peanut Festival.
“Peanuts Galore and So Much More!” will be the theme of the 2023 festival that honors the farmers of the Wiregrass Area and the crop that fuels our local economy.
National Peanut Festival Dates
This year’s festival will start November 3rd and run through November 12th, 2023. The Little Miss National Peanut Festival Pageant will October 14, 2023, and the Miss National Peanut Festival pageant will commence on Friday, October 20, 2023, with the preliminaries and conclude on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
Things to Remember
Tickets including Mega Passes will go on sale September 1, 2023, online and at Eagle Eye Outfitters. For an eleven-day period, Mega Pass prices will be $25.00. The sale will end on midnight, September 10th, 2023. Beginning on September 11, 2023, Mega Pass Prices will go to $30.00. A Mega Pass includes one admission and one ride armband. It is good any day of the festival.
Mrs. Cook also announced that on Friday, November 10th, the fairgrounds will open at 1 PM since most schools are closed for Veterans Day. The fairgrounds will also remain open until 11:00 PM on Thursday night, November 9th since the next day is a holiday.
Reithoffer Shows will again be providing rides and attractions for the Midway including their new Ice Jet Spectacular Ride and the New York, New York! Funhouse.
Also new to the festival will be an opening night parade on the fairgrounds including local bands and other attractions including some of your favorite fairground entertainment acts.
Mrs. Cook is excited to announce the return of Petting Zoo to the festival! Along with an additional food court area and picnic table seating for families while they are on the fairgrounds.
The National Peanut Festival will also introduce additional security measures upon entering the fairgrounds including metal detectors and bag checks.
Concerts will be announced on September 1st as well when reserved seating goes on sale.
