The 2024 National Peanut Festival Parade will be held on Saturday, October 26th at 3:30 PM. This year, we're excited to honor the 80th celebration with a return to the traditional route down Foster Street, a nostalgic change from the recent east-west corridor of Main Street.

This year's parade also comes with a few important updates:

  1. New Date and Time: Moving the parade to the afternoon allows our 400+ dedicated volunteers to enjoy the festivities with their families. In the past, having the parade on the last Saturday morning meant many couldn't attend due to commitments at the fairgrounds.
  2. Consideration for High School Bands: Area high school bands often have late football games on Friday nights, making it difficult for students who return home after midnight to be parade-ready by 6:30 AM. The new timing eases this challenge for our talented young musicians.
  3. Enhanced Security and Safety: The revised route creates a smaller, more manageable footprint, allowing us to prioritize safety and keep the north-side corridor of downtown Dothan, including Oates Street, open throughout the day.

We know that change can be tough, but we're confident these adjustments will enhance the parade experience for everyone. We look forward to seeing you on October 26th for a celebration to remember! 🌟🎺πŸ₯œ
