🐐🐖🐓🐄 Livestock Competitions at the Alabama AG Credit AG Complex
The Alabama AG Credit AG Complex is the beating heart of agricultural excellence at the National Peanut Festival, where tradition, youth leadership, and top-tier livestock converge in a celebration of rural heritage and community pride.
Throughout Festival Week, the Complex hosts a full slate of competitive events featuring cattle, swine, goats, lambs, and chickens—each showcasing the skill, dedication, and showmanship of exhibitors from across the region.
🐄 Beef Cattle Shows
From the Junior Heifer and Feeder Steer “Blow and Go” Show to the Open Beef Cattle Show featuring registered breeds like Angus, Brahman, Charolais, and Simmental, our cattle competitions highlight superior genetics, grooming, and presentation. Youth Showmanship divisions offer belt buckles and cash prizes, while breed champions compete for Supreme honors.
🐖 Swine Competitions
The swine shows bring energy and enthusiasm to the barn, with exhibitors presenting market hogs and breeding stock in clean, well-managed classes. Judging focuses on structure, muscle, and overall condition, with ribbons and premium payouts awarded across divisions.
🐐 Goat Shows
Whether dairy or meat breeds, our goat competitions emphasize health, conformation, and exhibitor handling. Youth participants demonstrate their knowledge and care in both showmanship and breed classes, contributing to a vibrant and educational experience.
🐑 Lamb Shows
Lamb exhibitors showcase animals bred for market and show, with divisions based on weight and age. Judges evaluate muscling, balance, and presentation, while youth competitors gain valuable experience in livestock management and public presentation.
🐓 Poultry Shows
The chicken competitions feature a variety of breeds, from bantams to broilers, judged on feather quality, body type, and overall health. These events offer a unique opportunity for younger exhibitors to engage with animal husbandry in an accessible and rewarding format.

With premium payouts, custom awards, and a strong emphasis on youth development, the livestock competitions at the Alabama AG Credit AG Complex are more than just shows—they’re a cornerstone of the Festival’s mission to honor agriculture, educate future leaders, and build lasting community connections.
