🐐🐖🐓🐄🐇 Livestock Competitions at the Alabama AG Credit Ag Complex
Experience the agricultural traditions at the heart of the National Peanut Festival! Throughout festival week, the Alabama AG Credit Ag Complex welcomes exhibitors from across the region for competitions featuring cattle, swine, goats, lambs, poultry, and rabbits.
These shows celebrate the hard work, knowledge, and dedication that go into raising and caring for animals. For young exhibitors, each competition offers an opportunity to develop confidence, practice showmanship, and share their passion for agriculture.
🐄 Beef Cattle Shows
From the Junior Heifer and Feeder Steer “Blow and Go” Show to the Open Beef Cattle Show, our cattle competitions showcase quality livestock and careful preparation. Breed judging and youth showmanship highlight both the animals and the exhibitors who care for them.
🐖 Swine Competitions
Market hog and breeding stock competitions bring excitement to the show barn as exhibitors present their animals for evaluation. These events recognize quality livestock while giving young participants valuable experience in animal care, handling, and showmanship.
🐐 Goat Shows
Dairy and meat goat competitions showcase a variety of breeds and the skills required to prepare them for the show ring. Exhibitors demonstrate their knowledge through breed classes and showmanship, giving visitors a closer look at this important part of agriculture.
🐑 Lamb Shows
Lamb competitions recognize the care and preparation behind each animal’s appearance in the ring. Exhibitors demonstrate livestock handling skills while judges evaluate the qualities of the animals presented.
🐓 Poultry Shows
Discover the variety of breeds represented in our poultry competitions! These shows introduce visitors to the care and preparation involved in raising chickens and offer young exhibitors an engaging way to participate in agriculture.
🐇 Rabbit Shows
Join us Friday, November 13, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the Show Barn, Building 7, for the NPF Rabbit Shows! Open to exhibitors ages 5 through 12th grade, the competition features 16 breed classes, followed by required Showmanship classes for all exhibitors.
Check-in runs from 3:00–5:00 PM. Entry is $8 per rabbit, with no limit on the number entered. Breed and Showmanship premiums are awarded, along with Best of Show, Reserve in Show, and Third in Show honors.
