Saddle Up for the 2025 National Peanut Festival Livestock Cattle Events!
The barn doors swing wide this fall as the National Peanut Festival welcomes breeders, youth exhibitors, and cattle enthusiasts from across the Southeast to one of Alabama’s most anticipated agricultural showcases. Whether you're raising champions or cheering from the stands, this is your moment to celebrate legacy, livestock, and leadership.

🏆 Prize Money & Awards
• Junior Heifer & Feeder Steer Classes: Up to $75 for 1st place, ribbons through 10th
• Showmanship Winners: Cash prizes + custom belt buckles for Junior, Intermediate & Senior divisions
• Breed Champions: Compete for Supreme Heifer & Grand Champion Steer honors.

🐂 Breed Divisions Represented
From Angus to Simmental, Brahman to Brangus, and everything in between—including Other Breeds (American, British, Continental)—our show rings highlight the best of each bloodline. All breed champions will advance to compete for top honors.

👩‍🌾 Youth Leadership in Action
The Junior Heifer & Feeder Steer Show is a “Blow and Go” event—no fitting required. Open to bona fide 4-H, FFA, and FCCLA members, this show emphasizes clean presentation, ownership, and hands-on experience. It’s more than a contest—it’s a rite of passage.

• Deadline: Friday, October 17, 2025
• Entry Fees: $10 (Junior Show) / $25 (Open Show) per animal
• Online Only: Register here
• Gate Admission: $8/day or $20 for a 4-day pass
• Ag Parking Pass: $25 (includes vehicle + trailer)

🐾 Important Reminders
• No dogs or overnight stays in barns 🚫
• All out-of-state cattle must present current health certificates 📋
• Exhibitors must clean stalls before departure to avoid forfeiting prize money 🧹
• Trailers must be moved immediately after unloading—parking enforcement will be active 🚛

Introducing your judge, Mr. John Patrick Andress

Mr. Andress began his passion for the livestock industry at his diversified livestock operation and family farm in Madrid, Alabama. However, he has served most of his career in the Midwest. John Patrick graduated from both Black Hawk College and the University of Illinois, where he received his degree in Animal Science and his Master's Degree in Agricultural Education. Mr. Andress received numerous livestock judging and meat-animal evaluation awards when serving on the University of Illinois and Black Hawk East College's judging teams. Shortly thereafter, John Patrick returned to Black Hawk to serve as the college's livestock judging coach. In addition to his career in education, John Patrick has served as a researcher for Cargill, Farmland, and Tyson Meats, as well as an executive for iCEV, who is the world's largest provider of livestock judging videos worldwide. Currently, Mr. Andress lives in Douglas, Georgia, with his wife Haillie, and 2 year-old son, Adam. John Patrick is also the owner of Another Level Education, whose sole focus is to support students, teachers, and administrators interested in the Agriculture Industry and Career Technical Education.
